It was very early on a summer morning in town when Fitzwilliam Darcy mounted his new stallion for an early ride. Short minutes later, his life had changed. He had not been a happy man but was lonely, and thought life was passing him by. Though he never complained, he had lately resorted to prayer to ask his maker to send him a woman he could love.
Out of the clear blue sky, he met a young Elizabeth Bennet who was walking that morning. I invite you to read my story to learn how Darcy and Elizabeth were changed after their meeting.

I rarely write one-star reviews, but this "book" begs for one. In the preface, the author brags that like "many" authors she does not have her work proofread or edited. I know authors and don't know any who would do this; there is usually a long list of people to thank for helping with a book. Too bad she didn't ask for help. She needs it with both editing and proofing. Throughout the book there are anachronistic events, she plays no mind to Regency customs, her language is straight twenty-first century American English, and the spelling and punctuation are from the fourth grade. The dialogue is unbelievably flat, without nuance. Add to this a mediocre plot set a few years before P&P, and you have a mess. She then goes on to say that if you are going to write a negative review, she doesn't want to hear from you and you should have read a sample first. Now, first, how do I know I'm going to write a negative review--I rarely do so, but still, if I find I have wasted my time and money on a poorly written book, I have an obligation to write a negative review. Secondly, where would I have seen this totally ridiculous and unprofessional warning unless I had first purchased the book? She has nerve, chutzpah, whatever you want to call it, I have to say, charging for a book and then saying review it only if you are going to fawn over it. I found that there had been several poor reviews written on Amazon, but for some reason, many could not be read. Don't bother with the book. It is just awful. Since most of the honest reviews have been removed apparently at the request of the author (which I suspect mine may be), check Goodreads for more accurate information. I wish I had.Product details

SUDDENLY ELIZABETH A PRIDE AND PREJUDICE VARIATION edition by ANNE LOUISE Romance eBooks Reviews
Let me start this review by saying that I am a bleeding heart. I LOVE P&P variations, and have a particular affinity for those with little "angst". I was outraged on behalf of this author when I read the intro note; how terrible that people would trash a book simply because there were no other reviews!
The outrage I felt quickly dissipated once I began reading the story. I know that many writers are self-published, and have come to expect typos/incorrect word usage as the norm. I don't however, expect to see them on the very first page! These are a few of the issues I had with this book
-Poor sentence structure (one run-on sentence after another. I had to reread a paragraph multiple times to understand what happened.)
-Character confusion (use of "she" and "Miss Bennett") when Elizabeth and Jane are in the same space to refer to both of them interchangeably
-Author's lack of attention to detail for her own storyline
The more I read, the more annoyed I became that the author would think her book was targeted "just because". The fact of the matter is that this is a good idea that is poorly written and executed, and no amount of sympathy will change that. My greatest consolation is that I have a Unlimited subscription and didn't pay for this book at all; fortunately, I've only wasted my time and not my money.
This is a very cute story to read when you want something to make you happy. You can enjoy the experience of falling in love without all the obstacles and heartbreak. I most especially recommend it for all the 'angst weenies' out there.
I also want to make a comment about those who post unacceptable reviews to make other books more popular. SHAME ON YOU!!! Someone took the time and trouble to write a story and you should not denigrate it just to improve another one. IF YOU CANT SAY SOMETHING NICE JUST DON'T SAY ANYTHING AT ALL.
Not P & P characters. Poorly written. Worst ever variation. Boring and more boring! Rotten writing. Rotten, rotten, rotten, and rotten..
I never post bad reviews. However, this book was a struggle to finish. I found the writing to be poor.
It had twists and enjoyable. Liked the elder Bennet's' story line and their reflections upon their actions of their children.
A very interesting and enjoyable story. Occurring before Austen's Pride and Prejudice having Darcy meeting in the park when his horse reared and Elizabeth tripped over a tree root. Rushing to help Elizabeth, Darcy is drawn to her beauty, liveliness, and wit even while her sprained ankle was painful. Darcy takes the situation into his own hands by removing her half boot, placing her on his horse, and returning to Gracechurch Street. He then summons his own doctor to check on her. He is already bewitched by Elizabeth's eyes and her ability to discuss on many topics that interest him. Darcy has already requested Georgiana return from Pemberley to meet Elizabeth and has told his Aunt and Uncle Matlock about her. They are delighted that he has taken an interest in any woman. Both his and Georgiana's relationship continues to grow and develop into deep feelings. As Elizabeth is recuperating, Jane arrives to help with the Gardiner children. The children are happy to see her, but between Elizabeth, Darcy, and Georgiana they are already quite spoiled. When Elizabeth's ankle is healed, she and Jane are invited to Darcy House for dinner. There they met Colonel Fitzwilliam and Charles Bingley. Jane knows that Bingley is to take Netherfield soon. Colonel Fitzwilliam's brother, the Viscount, is dying so he will become the next Viscount and resigns his commission in the Army. Georgiana, Fitzwilliam, and Darcy travel to Meryton and meet the Bennets. Amazingly, Mrs Bennet is subdued, since the younger girls are not out they are calm, and immediately befriend Georgiana and retreat to the bedroom. Triple marriages taken place in the little town of Meryton at Longbourn Church much to the delight of this small town of little significance. So enjoyable without Lady Catherine, Mr. Collins, Caroline, or Wickham. No angst and only one misunderstanding. Not bad for a Pride and Prejudice Variation.
